Belitung government promotes tourism among G20 delegates

Many G20 delegates asked about tourist destinations in Belitung Island. They want to know how to get there and if they can get there by taxi.

Belitung, Babel Islands (ANTARA) – In an effort to attract international tourists, the provincial administration of the Bangka Belitung (Babel) Islands is intensively promoting tourism on Belitung Island among the participants of the Group of Development Work (DWG) of the G20.

“This information is very important because many G20 participants do not know the tourist destinations of the island of Belitung,” the acting governor of the islands of Babel, Ridwan Djamaluddin, said on Thursday.

Belitung Island has beautiful natural landscapes, such as beaches and culture comparable to Bali and Lombok Islands, he noted.

“Many G20 delegates asked about tourist destinations in Belitung Island. They want to know how to get there and if they can get there by taxi. And I replied that taxis are available for take them to various tourist destinations on the island,” he added. said.

Many foreign guests attending the G20 meeting have a good impression of Belitung Island and expressed their intention to return to the island with their families, the acting governor said.

“These delegates have just seen beaches around the G20 meeting venue. They have not seen exotic beaches located far from the G20 meeting venue,” he added.

The Senegalese Minister of Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, Amadou Hott, expressed his admiration for the landscape of the beaches of the island of Belitung.

“It’s a beautiful island. The beaches are beautiful and natural. Thank you for having us,” he remarked.

The G20 DWG is being held on Belitung Island, Islands of Babel, from September 7-9, 2022.

The 17th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the G20 will be held in November 2022 in Bali.

The summit will be the culmination of the G20 process and the intense work carried out in ministerial meetings, working groups and engagement groups throughout the year under Indonesia’s G20 Presidency.
